ECF Counties Rapidplay Championship

Southern Counties Chess Union / ECF Counties Rapidplay Championship 2010-11

The ECF Counties Rapidplay Championship 2010-11, organised for the ECF by the SCCU, will be held on Saturday 18th September 2010 at Wanstead House, the normal venue for Essex home matches.
A county may enter one or more teams of 12 players. The event will incorporate a Handicap Competition, based on the difference between actual and expected scores. The same team cannot win both competitions. The winning team will be awarded the ECF Counties Rapidplay Trophy

Venue: Wanstead House, 21 The Green, Wanstead, London E11 2NT
Date and Time: Saturday 18th September from 1.30 pm to 7.00 pm
Eligibility Rules: as for the ECF Counties’ Championships
Grading: The results will be submitted for the January 2011 ECF Rapidplay Grading List.
Format: 4 Round Swiss, 30 minutes per player per game. Pairings and results will be based on game points, with match points as a tie break. Pairings will be determined by the scores in the main competition.
Handicap System: Handicap scoring is match by match and is determined by the difference between a team’s actual score and its expected score based on the difference between average grades.
Chief Arbiter: Mike Gunn
Refreshments: Light refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon at no extra cost.

Parking: There is a small car park in front of Wanstead House and ample free on-street parking in adjacent roads on a Saturday.
Entry Fee: £36 per team of 12 players
Closing Date for Entries: Monday 13th September
Entries, accompanied by a cheque for £36 for each team entered, should be sent to David Smith, using the form attached. Email entries are acceptable, but remittances should then be posted separately. Cheques should be made payable to SCCU
