British Championship
1st GM Jonathan Rowson (Scotland) 8.5 points2nd & British Ladies Championship
IM Ketevan Arakhamia-Grant (Scotland) 8 points3rd= GM Mark Hebden, GM Daniel Gormally, GM Jonathan Parker and IM Gawain Jones.
U21 - IM Stephen Gordon (Eng) 6.5 points
U18 - IM Gawain Jones (Eng?) 7.5 points
Game 1 in the final round of the British Chess Championship was played between GM Jonathan Parker and GM Jonathan Rowson. With both players on a score of 7½, the winner would secure the championship title. In a well fought out exciting game, which was awarded the Alexander best game prize, Jonathan Rowson won the match and has become the British Chess Champion for the third consecutive year.

- It is ECF policy that to enter any part of the Smith & Williamson British Championships (except the Adult Rapidplay/Weekenders) you must be a member of your National Federation.
To join ECF you must have paid a membership fee, completed a Subscription Form and completed and signed the white ECF Application Form and then posted them to the ECF Office.
This applies to both those members participating in the Northern Membership Scheme and existing BCF Members.
The white form need only be completed, signed and returned to the ECF Office once not annually. There is nothing further to pay.
Please note that we cannot renew any membership or allow entry into the British Championship until the signed ECF Application Form has been registered at the ECF Office.
