AN INVITATION TO TENDER FOR BCF GRADING WORK

The British Chess Federation invites tenders for the conduct of activities connected with the preparation of the BCF Grading Lists. These activities were conducted over the last two years by the BCF Grading Database Manager and the BCF Grading Officer.

The work involved is the assembly, verification and input of data submitted by Local Results Officers, operation of computer programs (provided by the BCF) to compute the grading, through to the publication of the final lists. Tenders may be submitted by an individual or by a consortium for the work to be conducted by the Grading Database Manager and/or the Grading Officer.

It is intended to place contracts for a period of not less than one year as from November 2002. The contracts will contain performance standards and part of the remuneration will be linked to such performance.

All quotations must be received in writing by the close of business on Monday 5th August 2002.

Note that the Federation does not bind itself to accept the lowest or indeed any tender.

Applicants wishing to tender should contact the BCF Office and request further details and a form.
