How You Can Help

Errors, Queries and Comments

If in the Grading list, your name is shown incorrectly, or the wrong clubs listed, a note of this would be welcomed; especially dates of birth for all juniors marked as date of birth 1/1/nn in the Grading list as this effects their Grading "enhancement". Information on these or queries of a specific nature should be addressed to:

The BCF Grading Database Manager

Tel/fax: 01892 532 361, e-mail: rjh@sccu.ndo.co.uk

Other Aspects

A major problem experienced by Grading Officers is in identifying players. Event organisers can help by ensuring that players' full initials are quoted, their clubs (not home address) given, their date of birth given, and, where possible, their Grading code reference from the Grading List shown. It would help if players make sure that event organisers have their correct details. If moving to a different area or playing in a different event, give the local Grader your Grading reference number (6 digits followed by a letter).

Players with common names, where confusion with others is likely, may prefer to use forenames rather than just initials. Club Secretaries can help by checking that their Club is shown against their members in the BCF Grading List. Where the club name shown against a player is followed by an asterisk (*) it denotes a location rather than a club.

Date-of-birth data will be published in the Grading List when provided. Please let the BCF Office know if you wish your DOB to be withheld, and we will withhold it. Dates of birth shown as 1/1/nn are only to show year of birth, not actual date. Dates shown as 1/1/50 are for those people who have asked for their dates to be withheld.

Note: that DOB data is also used to establish eligibility for inclusion in the best age related lists.
