Proposed Abolition of Game Fee

When the current membership scheme began in 2012, the provision of game fee was retained as a transitional arrangement, primarily to reduce the minimum payment needed for new or infrequent players.  Now that we are in the 5th year of the current scheme, the Board of the ECF will be presenting to Council in April a proposal to abolish game fee altogether and replace it with 3 free games per player per league.  A detailed paper can be found here, along with some supporting data here. The proposed changes affect players of club, league and County games for which no more than Bronze membership is required. The ‘Pay to Play’ fee for Silver and Gold members remains unaffected. Feedback can be given via your representative on Council, including your Direct Members Rep (here), or via email to office@englishchess.org.uk
