WSCC Greece – from John Higgs

This entry is part 2 of 23 in the series WSCC 2013

This is rush hour at WSCC! A handful of players have arrived but by this evening all 120 members of the group will be here.

The World School Chess Championships 2013 starts today in Porto Carras, Greece. The England delegation is 48 players and 12 coaches. The event is a FIDE rated 9-round standard play tournament for U7s through to U17s. We have players – girls and boys – in almost all the sections. The pairings are up at 1pm Greek time (we are 2 hours ahead of UK) and the first round is at 4pm local.
