Akshaya Kalaiyalahan has achieved joint 2nd place and the Bronze medal (on tie break) in the U18 section at the European Youth Chess Championships held in Riga, Latvia. In a hard fought competition, she gained a score of 7/9 with 6 wins and 2 draws. The ECF congratulates Akshaya wholeheartedly for this and her many other achievements over the years as an England Junior. She is going from strength to strength as a junior and is set to become one of England’s top women players.
