— Thursday 9th June in Exeter
An impressive blindfold chess display by Grandmaster Timur Gareyev at Oxygen House, Exeter – scoring 8 wins and 2 losses while spinning many miles on a stationary bicycle. In many ways it was reminiscent of GM Pillsbury’s famous blindfold display at Barnfield Hall, Exeter, April 1902, on the occasion of the birth of the Devon County Chess Association. Some of his wins were against Devon county players. The event was very ably organised by Dr Tim Paulden of ATASS, Oxygen House, secretary of the Exeter & District Chess League.
The games in Chessbase format will follow from the organiser … We cannot display this gallery
