Director of Home Chess

Further to the announcement of 13th August 2018 seeking nominations for the 2018 elections, Alex Holowczak has now confirmed he will resign as the Director of Home Chess with effect from the 13th October 2018.

Accordingly, nominations are now invited for the position of Director of Home Chess. Candidates must satisfy the requirements set out in the post of 13th August 2018, which are —

To be eligible to stand for election, a candidate must be a member of the ECF on the day of the AGM.

Each candidate for a post must be one of –
A nominee of the Board for a Post; or
A person proposed by ‘the Requisitionists’ as defined in the Articles (see the website post entitled Motions for the 2018 Annual General Meeting)

Nominations must be made by 13.30 on Thursday 6th September by sending an email to the Company Secretary via office@englishchess.org.uk, entitled ‘AGM 2018’, or by letter to the ECF Office, to be received by the deadline.

A duly nominated candidate has the right to have an election address published on the ECF website. The body of the election address must be no more than 750 words in length. All election addresses received by the nomination deadline will be published simultaneously on the website; any election addresses received after the deadline will not be published.

Candidates are required to comply with the Code of Conduct – Regulation No. 4 for the election campaign period.
