England had another successful seniors event at the World Senior Team Chess Championships in Krakow, Poland, which concluded today – 11th July – with the Over 65 team winning the World 65+ title and recapturing the trophy they won in 2022.
The 50+ 1st team secured the Bronze medal behind the USA and Italy, whilst the Women’s 50+ team also won Bronze behind Estonia and the USA.
Nigel Povah, the England Seniors Manager, writes: ‘This is yet another great result for our senior teams, and we were a little unfortunate not to have repeated the recent triple success we had at the European Senior Team Chess Championships in May in Slovenia’.
