British Chess are pleased to present a chess evening for juniors with Special Guest US FIDE Master Mike Klein, FunMaster Mike from the excellent ChessKid website. IM Richard Pert will be hosting the event along with local junior coach Robin Slade. The UKI Chess Championships are open to all children in the UK and Ireland. This is an individual event as well as a school team event – you can enter as an individual or a school team. There are trophies for the top three girls and boys schools according to the scores of their top four players. The girls play separately to the boys with trophies for the overall champions and rosettes awarded for those scoring 11 points or more. No one is knocked out all 5 rounds are played | Entry form

The competition is open to Civil Servants and will will be a rapid play event with 25minutes each on the chess clock under the FIDE rules of Chess. Players will get multiple games over the day. There will be section for people graded 100 and over under the English Chess Federation grading system and for those from 99 down to ungraded.
