This prestigious event has sections for Under 10 and Under 14. There are also sections for Under 8, Under 12, Under 16 and Under 18/21 on 28th, 29th and 30th December at the same venue.
The Under 10 play 7 rounds over the two days. Competitors must gain qualification to play in the Under 10 as detailed at www.ljcc.co.uk. The Under 14 play six rounds. These sections attract a large entry and both are run with Major and Minor divisions. The LJCC Charitable Trust also run the Northwick Park Congress at the same venue and at the same time. UKCC Qualifier. 3 sections – U9 and U11 will be qualifiers for UKCC (ages are those on the 31st August, 2018 midnight) Open Section: Players above 11 years, who do not need qualification or the players who already qualified.
Time control: 15 minutes each player plus 5 seconds per move. Assistance will be given to any child unfamiliar with using chess clocks. Number of rounds: 7 for U9/U11 and 6 for Open Section. UKCC trophies for the best performers in U9 and U11, trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for all the sections, trophies for best girl performer in each section.
