Join the English Chess Federation for £8 a year!

If you are keen on chess then become a Junior member of the English Chess Federation (ECF). It’s easy to join – just go to the ECF homepage (https://www.englishchess.org.uk/) and click on the ‘JOIN’ button to find out about online membership. Signing up online will require a payment by PayPal or from a debit or credit card, so you may need an adult to make the payment on your behalf.

What you get for your ECF membership

All ECF members receive the following benefits:
• Online access to the ECF’s ChessMoves newsletter about English Chess
• Free grading of some results (depending on the level you join), so reduced entry fees to lots of events.
• Discounted subscription rate to ‘British Chess Magazine’
• Discounted price of ECF diary and ECF Yearbook.
• Partial eligibility for the English Youth Chess Championship Grand Prix.
• Partial eligibility to represent England in international youth championships.
• 5% discount offered via the Chess Direct Ltd web site at www.chessdirect.co.uk

What do you get for the different levels of ECF membership?

Bronze (annual fee £8 online)
All games you play at your club, for your school or club and for your county are graded for free.

Silver (annual fee £12 online)
In addition to the bronze features, all congress games are also graded for free. You are also eligible for the ECF Grand Prix.

Gold (annual fee £21 online)
All games are graded for free. Gold membership is required to play in any FIDE rated event.
