This is the latest in an event that has run without a break since 1958. Now with a 9-round FIDE Masters section 2200+ (18th-22nd April 2019), along with the main congress – 7 rounds 19th-22nd April 2019, with FIVE sections (FIDE Open, FIDE U1900/ECF U160, ECF U145/U120/U95). The Essex Championship will be awarded to the highest placed eligible competitor in the FIDE Open. The website is here – http://www.southendchesscongress.org.uk/
