Swiss tournament with 3 sections Major (players graded above 145), Intermediate (players graded 116 to 145) and Minor (players graded under 116) The winner of the Major will be the 2020 Wiltshire Champion, the winner of the Intermediate will be the 2020 Wiltshire Intermediate Champion and the winner of the Minor will be the 2020 Wiltshire Minor Champion. In the event of there being less than 6 players in a section the right is reserved to transfer entrants to another section. Prize money depending on the size of entry will be awarded to the Best Junior (£10), 2020 Champions (£50 dependent on entry size) and runners-up (£25 dependent on entry size). If the Major and Minor winners are Wiltshire players they will be awarded trophies to hold for 1 year. In the event of a tie the prize money will be shared between the winners. There will be no play-off. All players must be an ECF registered silver or higher level member or pay an extra £7.50p to upgrade to silver. In the event of there being no non-Wiltshire players in their section then the players will need to be an ECF registered bronze or higher level member. Ungraded players may enter any section, but must provide evidence of playing strength. If a player withdraws or resigns their game(s) the point(s) will be awarded to their opponent. If a player fails to inform their opponent and the Tournament Director - Tony Ransom that they can’t make the round their opponent will be awarded the point and progress to the next round. The decision of the Tournament Director in any disputes is final. All results will be submitted to ECF for grading. - The rate of play will be all moves in 1 ½ hours. - Entry fee is £4 adults / £2 juniors. Electronic payment is available. Details will be provided upon request. - Entry fees will only be returned in the event of this championship being cancelled. Entries must arrive no later than 29th September 2019.
