
U15 – Billy Twigge-Molecey
I started playing chess at school aged 6, when I moved from London to Sussex. I then joined Sussex Junior Chess and was part of their team when we won the U12, U14, U16 and U18 national titles. I’ve also won their Grand Prix tournament for the past five years. I also enjoy coaching other Sussex Juniors. I qualified for the National Junior Squad aged 10 and have really enjoyed playing chess abroad in Holland, France, Belgium, Czech Republic and Greece.

U15 – Callum Brewer
Callum began playing chess just before his 9th birthday, inspired by his grandad who was a Junior British Champion in the fifties, and he would like to thank his grandparents for being his official sponsors! He plays for Sussex Junior Chess, the Brighton and Hove Chess Club and he is a member of the National Junior Squad; and he would like to thank them all for their constant support, guidance and encouragment. Callum loves being part of a team, and continues to enjoy meeting new people and catching up with friends from around the country and across the world. Football is Callum’s other passion – he is the goalie for Brighton’s Seagulls U14 team and the Year 9 A team at his school, Dorothy Stringer |

U15 Girls – Lauren Weaver
Lauren started playing chess when she was 7 at Wimbledon High School chess club and was inspired by Susan Lalic who teaches there. She has played for the various Wey Valley teams and tournaments organised by Mike Basman, and continues to play for Surrey and Wimbledon teams. Lauren is looking forward to playing competitive chess in Brazil. |

U13 – Jakob Holton
Jakob first started to play chess in the Oxfordshire Chess Challenge and was school champion. He has been Oxfordshire Megafinal Supremo and participated in several Gigafinals. In other junior events he has been part of a winning Witney J4NCL team; won the Delancy Silver Plate twice; and is currently the National Junior Chess Squad U14 Champion. He has played in the World School Individual Championship in Greece and the Gibraltar Junior Chess Festival in 2013 and 2014. He is a member of the England Junior Squad and looks forward to visiting and playing chess in exotic places. He is a keen supporter of Sunderland AFC – hopefully this season may be better than last! He would especially like to thank FM Endre Ambrus for his support and guidance.

U13 – Nikolai Hinterreither
Nikolai was introduced to chess in Year 4 at his school. He quickly fell in love with the game and all of its intricacies, and soon began playing for both his school and county. He was selected for the National Jr. Squad in Year 6 and has since enjoyed representing England in matches against Wales, Scotland, and Poland. He is very excited to be testing his skills in the World School’s Chess Championships in Brazil, representing England. Nikolai currently attends Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School in Marlow, Buckinghamshire and is coached by GM Nick Pert.

U11 – Aditya Munshi
Aditya Munshi, known as Adi, born on leap year’s day, learnt chess from the age of 5 (from his sister Shaarika) and has never looked back. Aditya works very hard at his game and loves to play attacking chess! After taking part in the ESCC 2014, Adi has continued to enjoy chess at every level. He is extremely grateful for all the fantastic support he has received from Nottingham High Junior school, his coaches & his family. He loves cricket, badminton, video games and piano. |

U11 – Max Miller
Max is 11 years old (next week) and was taught to play by his father when he was 4. Two years later a chess club started at the local library, and Max joined. Shortly after he was advised to enter his first tournament by the late Tony Robson, where he became the U8 County Champion, and he has been a County Champion every year since and won many other tournaments. He also likes to play cricket, badminton and the guitar. He would like to thank Alan Brown from Chesspoint and John Warren from the Northants Schools Chess Association for their coaching and guidance. He attends St Peters School, Northampton. |

U11 Girls – Elizabeth Johnson
Elizabeth would like to thank the Lady Eleanor Holles School for all support it has given her. Elizabeth started playing chess when she was 7. She represented England at the World Schools Chess Championship in Greece Porto Carras in 2013. Away from chess she enjoys reading, music, tennis and netball.

U9 – Adithya Pramod Paleri
Aditya started playing chess in early 2013 and he already has an impressive list of achievements. His first major success came in December 2013 when he won the Under 8s at the London Chess Classic tournament. Since then he has won Wilts & West of England U10s and National Junior Squad U10s championships, and he came second in the South of England Juniors U9 Championship. Adithya is the current U9 English Junior Grand Prix winner and holds both English Junior Rapidplay U8 Champion and U9 English Youth Boys Chess Champion titles. He continued his impressive performance in 2014 by winning the Gigafinal (U8) and the British Chess Championship U9.
He is grateful to his coach Jyothilal Narayanan, who has been instrumental in his development and also to the Hertfordshire County Junior team / Nascotwood Junior School coach IM Ravi Kumar. He wants to thank the seniors at Watford Chess Club for patiently spending long hours playing with him.
He attends Nascotwood Junior School and wants to extend his gratitude to the staff and friends there for the encouragement and support. Adithya is a keen all round sportsman and plays football, tennis, cricket and has achieved 5th grade (green belt) in karate. He also loves reading and playing guitar. |

U9 – Dhruva Bhagwat
Dhruva started playing chess at the age of 6, as a hobby. Initially he trained with IM Michael Baturyn in California once a week and in the summer of 2013, playing chess was the only thing on his mind where he spent 6-8 hours daily playing chess at Mr. Baturyn’s academy. He played his first competitive junior chess tournament in California in June 2013 and has won numerous trophies and medals in various tournaments in California and England over last 12 months. He would like to thank his former coaches IM Michael Baturyn (USA) and Ken Coates (UK) for instilling chess basics in to him. Currently he is being coached by GM Nicholas Pert, which indeed is a privilege! Thanks to Nick for working with Dhruva and continuously pushing him to improve and succeed. Dhruva plays for Crowthorne club and Berkshire county team. He attends Beechwood Primary School in Woodley.

U9 – Robert Akeya-Price
Bobby attends Cumnor House School in South Croydon. He plays chess both in CCF club and school. Represented England first time in the World School Chess Championship in Greece in 2013. He is proud to be selected to represent England again and would like to thank his school and CCF for all the support they gave. Away from chess he is actively involved in physical sports: football, rugby and cricket.

Coach – Lawrence Cooper
Lawrence is based in Staffordshire and has been a self employed chess coach since February 2008 after taking redundancy from his civil service job. He is an ECF accredited coach with CRB clearance. He has travelled as a coach with many England junior delegations since 2008. His best known private pupil is Thomas Pym whom he coached for seven years.
As a player he achieved the title of International Master in 2000 and has 30 years of playing experience both nationally and internationally. He represented England on board two at The Mind Sport Games in Beijing in October 2008.

Coach – Glenn Flear
I have been a GM since 1987 and am based in Montpellier in the south of France. I am married to a five-times French Women’s Champion and have two teenage children. Apart from playing and writing about chess, I have been actively involved in coaching for a number of years. My first experiences of official ECF trips, such as the European and World Youth Championships, go back to the 1990s.
