3Cs Chess Club have once again been given national recognition, with the club’s founder Steve Rigby having secured a ‘Points of Light’ award, a national honour personally bestowed by the Prime Minister to individual volunteers who have made a significant contribution to their community. Steve founded 3Cs (Children’s Chess Club) 45 years ago and has seen it grow into one of the most prestigious chess clubs in the country, culminating in winning the National Club Championship earlier this year.
