Arbiting at online and hybrid events

There are an increasing number of online and hybrid events at local, national and international level; this is expected to continue throughout 2021. FIDE regulations for online and hybrid chess events can be found here – https://www.fide.com/docs/regulations/Annex_6.4%20Fide%20Online%20Chess%20Regulations.pdf

The ECF has also developed a draft guide to online arbiters’ roles and duties which can be found here – https://www.englishchess.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Online-Arbiter-Duties.pdf. We are also looking at a set of agreed levels for ECF online arbiter accreditation and training with a provisional document here – https://www.englishchess.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Online-Arbiter-Levels.pdf

The upcoming ECF Arbiters Seminar in April 2021 will cover basic areas of online arbiting, and we will update this page with relevant training courses to gain accreditation at the various online arbiter levels in due course.
