As well as Caplin Systems, we would like to thank the following for their very generous donation of prizes – Chess & Bridge, Chess.com, Elk & Ruby, DecodeChess, and Chessable. Their prizes will be in addition to the trophies and medals that will be awarded. Please note that although most of the tournaments will have prizes, because of the large number of events taking place some events will not have prizes beyond the trophy or medal.
British Titles and Trophies
The winners of the Championship Finals will become the first British Online Champions in their respective events at the relevant time controls. An engraved cup or trophy will be awarded to the winners of each of the Championship Final events and for the Major Open and Rating Limited events. In addition players placed 2nd and 3rd in each section will receive an engraved trophy. Please note that although most of the tournaments will have prizes, because of the large number of events taking place some of them will not have prizes beyond the trophy or cup.
Three of the trophy cups are being awarded in honour of some well-liked and highly regarded members of the chess community who died recently.
The winner of the Over 65 section will be awarded the Julian Farrand Cup
The winner of the Major Open will be awarded the John Naylor Cup
The winner of the Under 2000 rated event will be awarded the Nick Mitchem Cup
Caplin Hastings Invitational
The top two players in the British Standardplay Finals will be offered direct entry places to the 12-round Hastings All-Play-All Tournament on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th January 2021, with details here

We are expecting further prizes to be announced, including a variety of signed books, and some top players giving one-hour lessons online. The lessons are likely to be awarded to players in the grade limited events, whilst at least some of the signed books will be allocated to the senior events.
